The hotel association said in a statement issued on Monday, “The supply of gas cylinders for commercial use has been stopped from today. Since the hotel industry has been categorized as an essential service, the general public, senior citizens, students, medical and other people who are dependent on it will face problems in getting their daily meals. Apart from this, the hotel industry will also have to face problems until the gas supply becomes normal.”
Oil companies had given this assurance
The association further said, “Oil companies had said that there will be no interruption in gas supply for 70 days. But, the sudden stoppage of supply is a big blow to the hotel industry. We hope that the concerned Union Minister will take immediate action in this regard and will resume commercial gas supply and help the hotel industry. Due to stoppage of gas supply, hotels will remain closed from tomorrow.”
