The Prime Minister has held a high-level meeting with both the ministers and officials of the concerned departments.

Shortage of LPG cylinders has come to light in many cities including Mumbai and Bengaluru. Hotel and Restaurant Association has said to stop the work. Meanwhile, the government has invoked the Essential Commodities Act (ESMA) to ensure the supply of LPG to the priority sector is maintained. The government has extended the gas booking period and also increased the prices.
