The effects of the Iran-America war are visible all over the world. The price of crude oil in the international market reached $114 on Monday but on Tuesday it came down to $91 per barrel. The prices of LNG gas have almost doubled in a week. Hotels in many cities of India like Bengaluru and Mumbai have been badly affected due to the interruption of commercial LPG supply. However, the government says that all refinery companies have been asked to increase the production of LPG.

Neighboring countries Pakistan and Bangladesh have been badly affected due to shortage of petrol, diesel and LPG. Many universities in Bangladesh have been closed, while Shehbaz Sharif’s government in Pakistan has closed schools due to the oil crisis, ordering all government vehicles to reduce oil consumption by 50 percent. Instructions have been given to work 4 days a week in all offices.

There is no such situation in India right now. The country has sufficient stock of oil, and the government says that it has no intention of increasing the prices of petrol diesel right now. Only LPG prices have been increased. The question is that if oil prices increase in the international market, for how long will we be able to escape its impact? What will happen if this war continues for a long time?

On Monday, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son Mujtaba Khamenei was formally announced as the Supreme Leader of Iran. Thousands of people in Tehran welcomed the announcement of Mujtaba Khamenei’s name. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Mujtaba Khamenei but America claimed that Mujtaba too would not live long.

Soon after Mujtaba was elected Supreme Leader, Iran intensified attacks on Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and the Emirates. US President Donald Trump has said that the war with Iran will end soon, but also said that he will not declare the war ending soon. Trump said that we have won to a great extent, but this victory is not enough yet. Here, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have said that if the attacks by America and Israel continue, it will not let a single liter of oil go from the Strait of Hormuz.

57-year-old Mujtaba is the second son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s six children. Mujtaba’s elder brother and his wife were killed in the Israeli attack on February 28. After the death of Ali Khamenei, Mujtaba himself has not come forward. Even before this, he has neither made any speech nor given any interview, hence very few people know him outside Iran. But it is true that for the last many years, the real power of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s power was in the hands of Mujtaba.

America and Israel have clearly said that Mujtaba Khamenei is their target. America is facing the biggest problem due to Mujtaba Khamenei becoming the Supreme Leader. Now America wants that whatever government is formed in Iran, it should be completely under its control, which can be called a friendly government.

America has its eyes on Iran’s uranium. Recently, America and Israel had destroyed three nuclear sites of Iran by bombing. But experts say that Iran has hidden its uranium underground, where American and Israeli bombs cannot reach. Iran has 440 kg of uranium, which can be enriched to make 11 nuclear weapons.

Now, to take possession of this uranium, America wants to appoint a leader of its choice there who will be ready to stop the nuclear program and transfer the uranium, but the possibility of this is very less. A nationalist government can be formed in Iran but no such government will be ready to stop the nuclear program. According to my information, America is also considering sending its troops to capture Iran’s uranium, although the danger in this is very high.

Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps, Ali Mohammad Naini, claims that Iran’s huge stockpile of missiles and drones is ready for a long war and Iran has the strength to fight the war for the next six months. The IRGC commander said that during the last 10 days of the war, Iran has so far used only its old missiles, which were made ten to twelve years ago. He said that Iran has not yet pressed the button on its new missiles and the production of missiles was very high for the last one year. Therefore, no one should dream of Iran’s surrender.

Now the question before everyone is when will this war stop? Trump had said that there would be another 4-5 weeks of fighting, but looking at the circumstances, it seems that the war may last longer. Israel has turned most areas of Tehran into ruins. Now bombs are being rained on oil sites but looking at the way Iran has attacked Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait, there is no guarantee that this war will end soon.

If America thinks that Iran will accept defeat and surrender, then it is a misunderstanding. Looking at Iran’s missile attack power so far, it seems that it can continue this war for much longer. In the coming week, we will get an idea of which direction this war will go? (Rajat Sharma)
