‘War should not affect the common man’, PM Modi said in the cabinet meeting

New Delhi: The situation is worsening day by day due to the ongoing war in the Gulf countries. The global energy crisis is deepening. There is an outcry in most of the countries of the world due to the impact on the supply of oil and gas. Meanwhile, a cabinet meeting was held today in New Delhi under the chairmanship of PM Modi in which many important decisions were taken. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi directed that this war going on in the Gulf countries should not have any impact on the general public. He said that all ministries and departments should work together.

Approval to expand Jal Jeevan Mission

In the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi, approval has been given to extend the Jal Jeevan Mission till December 2028. An additional allocation of about Rs 8.7 lakh crore will be made for this. The project was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019, with the aim of providing clean and adequate drinking water through taps to all households in rural India.

8. Rs 69 lakh crore approved

“The Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Jal Shakti Ministry to reorganize and redirect the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) from infrastructure creation to service delivery,” Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said at a press conference. He said the Cabinet has approved increasing the total cost for the implementation of JJM to Rs 8.69 lakh crore by focusing on structural reforms, including Rs 8.69 lakh crore in 2019-20. This includes total central assistance of Rs 3.59 lakh crore as against the sanctioned Rs 2.08 lakh crore.

‘Sujlam Bharat’ National Digital Framework

Vaishnav said a uniform national digital framework called ‘Sujalam Bharat’ will be set up, under which each village will be allotted a unique Sujal Village or service area ID, which will digitally map the entire drinking water supply system from source to tap.

Effect on crude oil prices
