Local residents and political leaders attended the wedding ceremony at a temple in Arumanoor, Thiruvananthapuram. Farman painted the Mona Lisa by tying the thali given by the priest and placing saffron. Speaking after the wedding, the couple said, ‘We love Kerala very much. We decided to get married here after seeing the safety and environment here.’
Mona Lisa is from Indore. Mohammad Farman is from Maharashtra. Both of them are known in the film industry and met during the shooting six months ago. ‘I met Mona Lisa on the sets. Our love has grown since six months. “These six months feel like a 60-year-long relationship for us,” Farman said.
The couple, who had come to Kerala for a movie shoot, fell in love with the culture here. ‘We loved the beauty of Kerala and the quality of its people. There was a fear of opposition to our relationship in other states. So we got the committee’s permission to get married in a temple in Kerala, which we felt was safe,’ Farman said. She also shared that Farman’s father has not given full consent to the relationship.

Kerala Education Minister V. Sivankutty participated in this wedding ceremony and wished the newlyweds well. It is special that artists from outside the state come to Kerala and get married as per the tradition there. Farman and Mona Lisa have approached the Kerala Police saying that they need protection after their marriage.
