Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Wednesday that in the year 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told the holy abode of Baba Kedar that the third decade of the 21st century will be the decade of Uttarakhand. I am happy to say that our government is committed to fulfill the PM’s resolve and is continuously working in this direction. CM Dhami said these things during the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address in the budget assembly session in Gairsain.
‘Vajpayee laid the foundation of Uttarakhand, PM Modi is doing the work of beautifying it’
Starting his address, CM Dhami said, “On this historic occasion, I remember all the Gods and Goddesses of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.” I pay my respects to the immortal martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and to all the martyrs who sacrificed everything for the building of the state. Also, on behalf of the entire House, I salute Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who fulfilled the dream of establishing the state of Uttarakhand. Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji laid the foundation of this state and today Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to beautify this state.
‘PM Modi wore the cap of Uttarakhand in front of the country and the world’
The CM further said, “Prime Minister Modi gave us his guidance from time to time for every aspirations of the citizens of Devbhoomi and their fulfillment. Be it any kind of event, any festival or the border area, considered to be the last village of our country, he has always remembered Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Devbhoomi Uttarakhand resides in his heart, this is not hidden from anyone. He wore the cap of Uttarakhand in front of the country and the world. This started from 26 January 2022 when he wore this cap on the occasion of Republic Day and today every Uttarakhandi considers this cap as his self-respect and his identity. On behalf of all the people of Uttarakhand, I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister.
CM Dhami presented the first budget as Finance Minister
CM Dhami said, “For the first time, as the Finance Minister of the state, I had the privilege of presenting the general budget for the people of the state before the House. I want to assure that this budget of ours will set a clear direction and condition for the development of the state for the coming years through a systematic roadmap. Also, 25 years of the establishment of the state were completed. This year we also celebrated Devbhoomi Rajatotsav under the leadership of PM Modi. This budget will lay an important foundation towards realizing the resolutions taken by our government on this historic occasion.”
‘Strict action taken against counterfeit mafia’
He further said, “We did not let the future of our youth be ruined. We took strict action against the counterfeiting mafia as well as Patravi scam and many other scams in the state. We acted vigorously, controlled law and order, and achieved what previous governments could not do.”

These bills were discussed in the House
The proceedings of the House began at 11 am today in the Legislative Assembly located at Bharadisain in Gairsain. During the Question Hour, questions related to many departments were raised by the MLAs. Along with this, the opposition sought answers from the government on various issues. Apart from this, many bills were also discussed in the House. During today’s House proceedings, Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami tabled several other proposals for passing, including the Uttarakhand Prison and Correctional Services (Amendment) Bill, the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill 2026, the Uttarakhand Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service).
CM Dhami presented a budget of Rs 1.11 lakh crore
Let us inform that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had presented a budget of Rs 1,11,703.21 crore for the financial year 2026-27 in the state assembly here on Monday. This is Dhami’s first budget as Finance Minister. The Chief Minister said that the resolution of the state government is to advance the overall development of the state through the model of knowledge- poor, youth, annadata (farmers) and women empowerment and these are its four major pillars. CM Dhami has claimed that in this budget, provision has been made for the development of women, farmers, poor, youth, our scheduled classes, border areas. This third decade of the 21st century belongs to Uttarakhand. This budget has been presented to fulfill the vision of PM Modi.
