The area around the White House was closed

The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia said the surrounding area was cordoned off after the van crashed into the gate. The crash occurred at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and H Street Northwest, resulting in a road closure, police said. Secret Service officers and Metropolitan Police Department officers are present at the spot. Police and Secret Service officials are collecting information about the driver.

Vigilance increased due to incident amid Iran war

This is not the first time that a vehicle has hit the White House gate. Earlier last year and in 2024, one vehicle had collided with the gate. The incident has alerted the US military and the Secret Service due to the involvement of the US and Israel in the Iran war. After the incident, an alert has been issued in the entire city. There is no information about anyone being injured in the incident.
