The changed weather in Himachal Pradesh has given relief to the people from the heat. Some isolated areas in the higher reaches of Lahaul and Spiti district received snowfall once again today. At the same time, there was intermittent rain in the lower hilly areas. Snowfall occurred in Jispa, Darcha and Shinkula, while 2.5 cm of snow was recorded in Hansa. Videos of snowfall have also gone viral on social media. Tourists going from Manali to Atal Tunnel enjoyed snowfall in March.

Meanwhile, according to Shimla Meteorological Department, 12 mm rainfall was recorded in Bharmour, 6.2 mm in Gondla, four mm in Keylong, two mm in Bhuntar and Dharamshala, 1.3 mm in Kukumseri and Kangra, one mm in Jot and 0.4 mm in Kalpa. The rain and snowfall in March has brought a smile on the faces of residents, especially tourism stakeholders of Manali and Lahaul and Spiti, as they are expecting a huge influx of tourists in the hills after the scorching heat in the plains.
How will the weather be till March 17?
Snowfall in the upper reaches has resulted in a drop in the maximum temperature in the valley, causing a significant change in the weather in Manali and its surrounding areas as well as Lahaul and Spiti. In contrast, the plains witnessed dry weather, with Sundernagar and Solan witnessing heat waves.
According to Meteorological Center Shimla, a yellow alert was issued today for strong winds in many parts and hailstorm at some places. Due to the activity of western disturbance, the weather is expected to remain bad in many parts of the state till March 17.
Happiness on the faces of farmers due to weather patterns
Snowfall in the upper areas of Churah sub-division of Chamba district and rain in the lower areas have brought happiness to the faces of farmers and gardeners. There has been fresh snowfall on the peaks like Chanju, Kano Jot, Sach-Pass etc. and heavy rain in the lower areas, which has given life to the crops in the areas suffering from drought.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted similar weather for the next few days, which has brought more happiness to the farmers and gardeners. They say that if it continues to rain like this, there will be a good harvest this time and their economic condition will improve.
