Popular veteran actor of Telugu film industry (Tollywood), Padma Shri awardee Rajendra Prasad while speaking in an event recently spoke very disparagingly about MGR who is also a Tamil superstar actor and former CM. That video went viral. After that, some Tamil actors and star actors have strongly condemned it and said that Rajendra Prasad should apologize immediately.
Rajendra Prasad, who spoke at a program organized in the honor of veteran Telugu actor Kantha Rao, praised Kantha Rao and said, ‘The then Tamil superstar MGR, who was also a former CM, was scared to urinate after seeing Kantha Rao’s acting and craze.’ In his speech he unnecessarily used insulting words for MGR. The video went viral on social media and caused a lot of controversy.
Now many Tamil actors have objected to this. General Secretary of South Indian Artistes Association (SIAA) and actor Vishal reacted sharply and said, ‘Shocked to hear the statement of senior actor Rajendra Prasad. It is good for one actor to praise another actor, but not to belittle another legend. MGR is not just an actor, he is a great leader of Tamil Nadu. Your statement has hurt the sentiments of our people. Please apologize for this and close this controversy,’ he wrote on the social network.
Tamil Nadu Actors Association president Nassar also expressed his displeasure through a video message. Dear Rajendra Prasad, I am glad to hear that you praised Kantha Rao. But your comparison of MGR hurts me. Not only Tamilians, some of your colleagues in Telugu film industry also don’t like it. MGR was close friend of NTR. We respect him without any politics. Please sincerely apologise’.

Some other actors of the Tamil film industry and those related to the film industry have also expressed their displeasure over the words Rajendra Prasad has spoken about MGR. But Rajendra Prasad has not given any response till now.
Rajendra Prasad has recently been creating controversies with his statements. Earlier, Brahmanandam had talked down about Ali. His statements about cricketer David Warner, who acted in a Telugu movie, also caused controversy.
