Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to the people of Assam before the assembly elections. Through video conferencing from Assam’s capital Guwahati, PM Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 4,570 crore in Kokrajhar, Assam and also flagged off three new train services. Along with this, while addressing the program, PM Modi also apologized to the people. The PM said, “Due to bad weather, I am not able to come to Kokrajhar and for this I apologize to all of you. The PM said, I had left from Delhi to come to you, but I had to land in Guwahati and now I am able to talk to you from here only.”
Road connectivity will become stronger
PM Modi said, the double engine government of BJP-NDA is continuously working for the rapid development of Assam and today itself the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 4,500 crore has been laid and inaugurated. Out of this, more than Rs 1,100 crore will be spent for the roads of Bodoland and this will further strengthen the road connectivity of Assam. PM Modi launched the ‘Assam Mala 3.0’ project costing over Rs 3,200 crore, under which roads will be built to improve inter-state connectivity and strengthen coordination between national highways and rural roads.
Assam got the gift of three new trains
PM Modi also flagged off three new rail services for Assam, including the Kamakhya-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, which will provide direct rail connectivity between north-east and south India. Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Express will improve connectivity between Assam and West Bengal. The Narangi-Agartala Express will improve connectivity between Assam and Tripura.
