Farah told how superstars like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan worked under immense pressure from the underworld at that time. 80s was Bollywood’s weakest period: Farah

According to Farah, the 1980s were a very disappointing and weak period for Hindi cinema. Recalling his college life, he said that during that time most of the people with him did not like to watch Hindi films. According to Farah, due to the poor quality of Hindi films being made at that time, people preferred watching Hollywood films rather than Bollywood. He described this decade as the lowest point of mainstream Hindi cinema.

Talking about the changes of the 1990s, Farah said that at that time the film industry also had to face the increasing influence of the underworld. Recalling an incident from the early days of his career, he said that around 1993-94, he had received the news of producer Mukesh Duggal being shot dead on the sets of a film. This incident shows the dangerous and unsafe environment created around the industry at that time.

Even Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir were not spared from the pressure of the underworld.
