According to Farah, due to the poor quality of Hindi films being made at that time, people preferred watching Hollywood films rather than Bollywood. He described this decade as the lowest point of mainstream Hindi cinema.

Recalling an incident from the early days of his career, he said that around 1993-94, he had received the news of producer Mukesh Duggal being shot dead on the sets of a film. This incident shows the dangerous and unsafe environment created around the industry at that time.
