Relief from LPG problems, Shivalik and Nanda Devi ships will reach India soon

After the attack by America and Israel on Iran, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz due to which the oil and LPG crisis is deepening. The problem of LPG is coming to the fore in India, but in the meantime a relief news has come to the fore. Iran has allowed two ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz to sail. Both Indian ships have crossed the Strait of Hormuz today. Giving information today from India’s side, Randhir Jaiswal said, this morning two Indian flagged LPG carrying ships have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz. Both ships, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, safely transited the Strait of Hormuz this morning and are en route to India, with both ships arriving in India on 16 March and 17 March.

Ships loaded with LPG will be taken out

Randhir Jaiswal said, we had brought 30 merchant navy officers yesterday, the total number is 3000 sailors. LPG carrier vessels have a priority berthing order. We have received 6 carrier ships in the last three days. The war ships of the Indian Navy are currently in the Gulf of Oman where they will escort merchant ships some time from now. 24 Indian ships are stranded in the Persian Gulf. This morning two Indian ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz. Each ship can carry 46000 metric tons.

There is no shortage of petrol and diesel

Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refining), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said, “With regard to crude oil and refineries, we have adequate supply of crude oil and our refineries are operating at full capacity. There have been no reports of stock shortage at retail outlets. Petrol and diesel are available in adequate quantities. We produce enough petrol and diesel domestically to meet our requirements; hence, we have no need for imports.

PNG connections will be provided

With regard to Natural Gas, I had yesterday drawn your attention to the objective of the Government that wherever commercial consumers are facing difficulties or disruptions in LPG supply, they should be converted to PNG connections.” In furtherance of this objective, GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited) held a meeting with various CGD operators and advised them to expedite providing PNG connections to all eligible commercial consumers wherever possible…
