Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Manipur on Tuesday. After the earthquake, the ongoing budget session in Manipur Assembly was adjourned for 5 minutes. The tremor occurred around 12:08 pm, when Congress Legislature Party leader K. Meghchandra was presenting a proposal on ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ while discussing the issues related to the Public Health Engineering Department. As soon as he felt the vibration, the senior Congress MLA immediately stopped his speech.

Following this, Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh announced adjournment of the 60-member House for 5 minutes. Later the House proceedings resumed and continued normally. The epicenter of this 4.3 magnitude earthquake was in Kamjong district of Manipur. Let us tell you that the current budget session of Manipur Assembly started on March 9.
