Kerala Assembly Elections: Congress releases first list of 55 candidates, know details

The Central Election Committee of Congress has announced the names of its 55 candidates for the assembly elections of Kerala Legislative Assembly, State President Sunny Joseph will contest from Peravoor. Congress has given ticket to former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s son from Putthupalli seat and former MP Ramya Haridas from Chirayinkizhu seat. Congress has fielded Abdul Rasheed from Dharmadam seat and K.P. from Thalassery. Saju has been fielded in the election. Ticket given to Ms. Usha Vijayan from Mananthavady – ST. Nadapuram to KM. Abhijith has expressed confidence in VT Suraj from Balussery-SC and Mrs. Vidya Balakrishnan from Elathur. Earlier, BJP has released its first list of 47 candidates for the Kerala Assembly elections, in which Rajeev Chandrashekhar has been fielded from Nemom. Whereas, Navya Haridas has been given the ticket from Kozhikode North.

CEC meeting was held today itself, name finalized

On the same day, Tuesday (17 March), a meeting of the Central Election Committee of the Congress was held, in which the names of the candidates for the Kerala Assembly elections were brainstormed and after that the list of candidates was released. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former President Rahul Gandhi, Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, State in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi and many other leaders attended the meeting.

BJP gave tickets to two former Union Ministers

BJP has also given tickets to two former Union Ministers in Kerala for the assembly elections, among them Rajeev Chandrasekhar has been fielded from Nemom and V Muraleedharan has been given ticket from Kazhakootam. Navya Haridas has been given the ticket from Kozhikode North. Let us tell you that Navya is the leader of BJP Mahila Morcha and she had contested against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala in 2024. By-election was held here after Rahul Gandhi left the seat. Navya had to face defeat in the by-election.
