Nana Patekar’s nature is as tough as his heart. But, they also have a good mind. It is his nature to help those in need and encourage new artists. In 2018, Nana Patekar played the villain ‘Haridev Abhyankar’ in Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’. Pankaj Tripathi was also there on the set of the film.
Nana was completely dumbfounded to see Pankaj. Pankaj Tripathi played a minor role as a police officer in Kaala. Such a role could easily have been given to any ordinary artist. But seeing such a talented actor in such a small role, Nana was furious.
‘Pankaj, what are you doing here?’ asked Nana. Pankaj very simply and humbly said, “Sir, I have a small role. I have come to work with you and Rajinikanth sir”. Hearing this, Nana got angry. ‘You are such a big actor, why are you doing such small roles? Working with us will not make you big. You have already grown enough with your acting and art. If you accept such small roles again, I will catch and kill you’.
