Video: Government bus crushed 2 vehicles, 8 died, painful incident captured in CCTV

A government bus crushed two vehicles in Salem, Tamil Nadu. In this accident, 8 people died on the spot. The incident occurred near Uthamasolpuram. The government bus hit a pickup and a bike hard in Sulai Medu, Salem. The government bus that met with the accident was going from Erode to Salem with more than 30 passengers. When the bus reached Uthamasolapuram, the driver lost control and the bus went into the other lane.

The government bus collided with a small goods vehicle and a motorcycle coming from the front. Two people traveling on a two-wheeler and six people traveling in a pickup died in this accident, taking the total number of deaths to eight.

bus driver arrested

District Collector Brunda Devi, District Revenue Officer Ravikumar and City Deputy Commissioner Kelkar Subramaniam along with Balachandra went to the spot and conducted investigation. He also visited a private hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured passengers. The driver of the government transport bus, Ayyandurai (49), a resident of Panangadu near Periya Vanavasi in Mettur, has been arrested. According to initial investigation, the accident occurred due to his negligence. Police from Kondlampatti police station are investigating further.

There were 11 people in the pickup

Officials of the Regional Transport Department under the leadership of Rajpandian are also investigating the incident. The deceased include Irusai (60), his son Manikandan (23), Nitishka (5), Selvaraj, his son Vignesh, Amudha, 11-month-old Jeevika, Murugan and two-month-old pregnant Sandhya. A total of 11 people were traveling in the Tata Ace vehicle, out of which five died. He was going to attend a temple festival in Kalparaipatti when the accident happened. The passengers traveling in the government bus have been admitted to the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital for treatment.
