A major accident was averted in the early hours of Saturday when a massive fire suddenly broke out in a private passenger bus going from Bhubaneswar to Malkangiri. The incident took place at around 3 am in Ramabhadrapuram area of ​​Andhra Pradesh, near the Odisha border. As soon as the bus caught fire, there was panic among the passengers and everyone started running out in fear. According to preliminary information, the cause of fire in the bus is said to be short circuit. The fire spread very quickly and engulfed the entire bus within a few minutes. The situation had become even more frightening as thick smoke filled the inside of the bus.

Congress MLAs were traveling in the bus

Malkangiri MLA Mangu Khila was also traveling in the bus. However, it was a matter of relief that due to the wisdom of the bus driver and the alertness of the passengers, everyone got out of the bus in time. There is no news of anyone being injured in this incident and all the passengers are said to be safe. The fire was so fierce that the entire bus was burnt to ashes and only its burnt structure was saved. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade and local administration reached the spot and after much effort the fire was brought under control, but by then the bus was completely burnt. After the incident, the administration immediately arranged for an alternative bus to take the stranded passengers to their destination. Officials have started an investigation to find out the exact cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena expressed grief over the incident by tweeting. He said that as soon as he got the information about the fire in the bus and the boarding of Chitrakonda MLA Mangu Khila, he immediately contacted him on phone and inquired about his condition and health. The minister said that fortunately all the passengers including the MLA are safe. He also directed the regional transport officials to take immediate necessary steps to ensure that the passengers reach their destination safely.
