These days there is heavy snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. Due to this, Kedarnath Dham is also completely covered with snow. A video of the temple complex is becoming increasingly viral, in which snow is visible all around. All the temples are covered with snow and the doors are closed. The doors of Kedarnath temple will open exactly after a month on 22nd April. At the same time, the doors of Badrinath temple will open on 23 April. Booking for Chardham Yatra has started.

Continuous heavy snowfall in Kedarnath Dham has covered the entire Kedarnath city with a thick layer of snow of about three to four feet. Despite inclement weather and minus temperatures, Uttarakhand Police and Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel are on full alert and maintaining security. Even in such difficult circumstances, the soldiers keep patrolling regularly to ensure the sanctity and safety of the temple.

3-5 feet thick ice sheet

Due to continuous snowfall, the entire Dham is covered with 3-5 feet white sheet of snow. The temperature reached minus 16-17 degrees. Due to this, the preparations for Chardham Yatra are being affected. As per the fixed schedule, the trolley will depart from Ukhimath on 19th April and the doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened as per the rituals on 22nd April. The work of removing snow and preparing roads is going on at a fast pace. Currently, there is heavy snowfall in March, but everything is expected to clear up by April.

Rudraprayag police shared video

It was written along with the first video, “Baba Kedar wrapped in a sheet of white snow! This panoramic view of Kedarnath Dham fills the mind with peace and joy. As beautiful as this scene is, our police and ITBP soldiers are equally brave who are deployed for security even in this bone-chilling cold.” At the same time, it was written along with the second video, “The courage despite the bone-chilling cold is higher than the Himalayas! Despite the adverse conditions in Shri Kedarnath Dham amidst heavy snowfall, the police and security force personnel are themselves removing the snow and making their barracks and premises accessible.
