Raghav Chadha has accused telecom companies

What is the news?

Rajya Sabha MP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Raghav Chadha on Monday (March 23) raised the issue of daily data limit implemented by telecom companies in India. He told XPost that recharge plans of most telecom companies have a daily data limit of 1.5-3GB, which gets reset every 24 hours. He also said that unused data is neither carried forward nor returned.

Chadha told what is the loss?

He wrote on He told that if you have a 2GB plan and have used only 1.5GB of it, then 0.5GB of data will go waste. No refund or transfer is available.

MP made this demand

Chadha said he had raised the issue in Parliament, “Why should the data we have paid for be confiscated? Unused data should be carried forward to the next cycle, so that consumers can use what they have already paid for.” He sought to allow unused data rollover, saying similar policies are in place in the US, Australia, Netherlands and many other European countries.
