Nari Shakti Vandan Bill was passed in 2023

The NDA government had passed the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill in 2023 to amend the Constitution to give 33 percent reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. This Act has been made. 33 percent reservation for women from 2029

According to the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, 33 percent women’s reservation was to be implemented from the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. The reason for this was census and delimitation because 2021 census could not be conducted due to Covid and women reservation could not be given on the basis of 2011 census data. But now the government wants to free women’s reservation from the condition of census and delimitation.
