Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a virtual meeting with the Chief Ministers of all the states. Chief Ministers of those five states where elections are going to be held are not included in this meeting. For this reason, the Chief Ministers of West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Puducherry are not part of this meeting. The objective of this meeting is to efficiently deal with the situation arising out of the Iran war. Fuel supply in India has been affected due to the ongoing war in Western Asia. Due to rumors of shortage of petrol and diesel in many states, long lines were seen at petrol pumps. Many people are reaching the big tank to fill diesel. Because of this also other people are finding it difficult to get diesel. However, the government is continuously claiming that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in the country.
India imports crude oil and LPG, PNG on a large scale from West Asian countries. A large part of it comes from the Strait of Hormuz, from where supply has been affected due to difficulty in getting tankers out. However, Iran has given permission to tankers coming to India to pass.
Emphasis on Team India model during Corona period
At the time of Corona, PM Modi worked under the Team India model. In this model, all the state governments and the central government work together like a team. It is the responsibility of the Center to provide essential commodities to all the states on a large scale and the state governments pay attention to distributing them among the people in the right manner. During the time of Corona, there was emphasis on medicines, masks and testing kits. Now the focus is on petrol-diesel and LPG instead. The Prime Minister has already said that to deal with the situation arising out of the Iran war, everyone will have to work together like during the Corona period.
