Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: The tenure of the current 140-member Kerala Assembly, also known as the Kerala Niyamasabha, ends on May 23. Congress and BJP are giving a tough challenge to Leftist Garh Vijayan in Dharmadam seat. Voters are faced with a choice between continuity and change as Vijayan faces stiff opposition from youth leader VP Abdul Rashid and state secretary K Ranjit. Dharmadam assembly seat, which was created in 2010, has consistently shown confidence in the CPI(M). The seat was won by KK Narayanan in 2011, followed by Pinarayi Vijayan in 2016 and 2021. Five years later, the CPI(M) is confident of retaining the seat by an even bigger margin, citing the development projects initiated in the constituency under Vijayan’s leadership.
