How is the space station saved from meteorites?

NASA and other space agencies constantly monitor the activities around the space station and monitor every suspicious object.

As soon as a meteorite is expected to collide, the station is slightly removed from its orbit. This is called ‘collagen avoidance manuver’.

In this, the entire station is moved a few meters away with the help of rocket engines, so that possible conflicts can be avoided.
