Emergency landing in the air India aircraft in Riyadh

What is news?

A flight coming from Air India from Birmingham (Britain) was diverted in Riyadh city of Saudi Arabia after threatening to bomb on Saturday. Confirming the incident on Sunday, the Tata Group’s owned airline said that all the passengers are safe and the security check has been completed. Nothing objectionable has been found in the investigation. Now preparations are being made to reach the passengers to their destination.

What is the whole case of bomb threats?

A statement issued by Air India said that on June 21, flight numbers AI114 flying from Birmingham were threatened with bombing. After that the aircraft was changed to the middle of the air itself and it was safely taken to Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh. Following the standard safety protocol, the aircraft was investigated after landing. During this time no objectionable item was found in it.

Air India made alternative arrangements for passengers

Air India said that after the emergency landing of the aircraft, all the passengers were first taken off the aircraft and after that alternative arrangements were made in the hotel near their stay. The airline spokesman said, “Alternative arrangements are also being made to bring all the passengers on the aircraft to their destination. They are deeply sorry for this inconvenience to the passengers.”

Air India takes tough steps for security

The last few days have been tense for Air India. On June 12, a few minutes after flying from Ahmedabad Airport, its aircraft crashed on the building of AI171 Medical College Hostel. 24 other people, including 241 passengers, were killed in that accident. Since that incident, the airline has increased security checks and vigilance in flights. Air India has voluntarily strictly strictly flying flying security checks.
