Bengaluru: Amid speculation of leadership change in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ended suspense and said that I will remain the CM of Karnataka for five years. There should be no doubt in this. He claimed that the Congress party is united and this government will be “strong like a rock” for five years. When the reporters asked him whether he would remain CM for five years. On this, Siddaramaiah said that yes I will be CM for five years. There is no doubt about it. Why do you doubt? On the other hand, Deputy CM DK Shivkumar also said that the party is not a dissatisfaction.

There was speculation that the Chief Minister could be replaced in the state, citing the formula of power share between Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivkumar within the ruling Congress, especially within the ruling Congress. However, DK Shivkumar said on Tuesday that there was no discussion on the change of leadership and insisted on strengthening CM Siddaramaiah and the party in the state. He said that dissatisfaction in the party is wrong.

Are they our high command?

Siddaramaiah retaliated by BJP and JD (S) leaders to replace the CM, saying, “Are they our high commands?” “R Ashok (Leader of Opposition in the Assembly) is a BJP man. BY Vijayendra (state BJP president) is a BJP man. Chalawadi Narayanaswamy (Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council) is a BJP man. If he says such things, will you write? You should be confirmed or not?”

BJP dreaming during the day

Accusing the BJP of spreading lies about the stability of the government, Siddaramaiah said that the Congress party is united and the government will be “strong like rock” for five years. “Nobody believes in BJP. They only lie. They are adept at lying. They do not know to speak the truth. He said,” We are all together. As I said in Mysore recently, we will remain in power for five years. Our government will be strong like a rock. The people of BJP are dreaming in the day, ”

He accused the BJP of not doing anything while in power and asked what evidence he had to say that he has worked for the development of the state in areas like irrigation, rural development, public work, education and health? He said, “He (BJP) remained in power for nearly four years and stayed in the coalition government with JD (S) under the leadership of HD Kumaraswamy for 1.2 years. What he did? He did nothing. He is trying to mislead people by lying.”

Responding to the question asked about the contenders for the post of minister in the Congress, the CM said that the Congress high command will decide. “Everyone has the right to become CM in democracy. The high command will finally decide. There are about 140 people (MLAs) in our party. Only 34 people can be made ministers. He asked. Can everyone be made ministers?”

What did DK Shivkumar say?

Earlier in the day, while talking to reporters in Bengaluru, DK Shivkumar said that there is no dissatisfaction within the ruling Congress and when Siddaramaiah is CM, there is no need for any differences on the issue of leadership. Let me tell you that after the results of the assembly elections were declared in May 2023, there was a tough fight between Siddaramaiah and Shivkumar for the post of CM and the Congress managed to convince Shivkumar and he was made deputy CM. At that time there were reports that an agreement was reached on the basis of “Rotational Chief Minister Formula”, according to which Shivkumar would become CM after two and a half years, but this was not officially confirmed by the party.
