In view of the popularity of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is going to start its fifth special train journey in the name of ‘Sri Ramayana Yatra’ from 25 July 2025. The yatra is part of the series started after the ceremony held on 22 January 2024 after the ceremony organized for the life of Ram temple. According to IRCTC, ‘Sri Ramayana Yatra’ will start from 25 July 2025 and will include more than 30 sites associated with Lord Ram.

This is the route of special train

The yatra will begin with Ayodhya and after that Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Buxar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi and finally will go to Rameswaram Islands of South India. After this the journey will end by returning to Delhi. IRCTC officials said that after the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, religious and cultural tourism has received great encouragement. Devotees are showing interest in visiting these places from all over the country.

A IRCTC official said, ‘This is our fifth’ Ramayana Yatra ‘since the inauguration of Ram temple. All the earlier trips received positive response from the pilgrims. Travel fare has been fixed at Rs 1,17,975 per person for third class air -conditioned vehicle (Third AC), Rs 1,40,120 for second class air -conditioned vehicle (second AC), Rs 1,66,380 for first class air -conditioned vehicle (first AC) cabin and Rs 1,79,515 for ‘first AC’ copper.

You will get pure vegetarian food

The package fee includes train travel, stay in three star hotels (for all categories), pure vegetarian food, travel from air -conditioned buses and darshan, travel insurance and services of IRCTC travel manager.

According to a press release issued by IRCTC, the journey will start from Safdarjung railway station in Delhi and will be conducted through ‘Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train’ with modern facilities. This train will have two restaurants, modern kitchens, shower cubals in coaches, sensor based toilets, foot massage. It will have the facility of traveling in the categories of ‘First,’ Second and Third AC ‘. CCTV cameras and security personnel will be deployed in each coach for security.

Travel will start from Ayodhya

He said that the yatra will start from Ayodhya, where devotees will visit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Hanumangarhi and Rama’s Paadi (Saryu Ghat). He said that after this, the Bharat temple at Nandigram will be visited. The official said that the next stop will be Sitamarhi in Bihar, where passengers will visit Sita’s birthplace and Ram Janaki temple in Janakpur, Nepal.

Chitrakoot’s visit will be done by road

After this, Ramrekha Ghat and Rameshwarnath Temple in Buxar, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi will be seen and people will also see Ganga Aarti. IRCTC said that after this the passengers will be traveled to Prayag, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot by road, which will also arrange night rest.

This train will go to these religious places in Maharashtra

IRCTC said that after this the train will reach Nashik in Maharashtra, where Trimbakeshwar Temple and Panchwati area will be seen. After this, Anjanadri Parvat (birthplace of Hanuman ji), Vitthal and Virupaksha temples will be visited in Hampi. The last stop of the train journey will be Rameswaram, where Ramanathaswamy Temple and Dhanushkodi are included. The journey will end on the 17th day to return to Delhi. (With language input)
