Eyewitnesses allege that the school bus driver saw the boys going towards the college bus. But still he did not stop the bus. Local people have demanded strict action against both BMTC and school bus driver citing negligence for school children and lack of road safety measures. 14 passengers injured in bus accident

Let me tell you that a few hours before this, more than two dozen passengers, including 14 students, were injured in a face-to-face collision between two buses in Suratkal, about 60 km from Mangaluru. The drivers of both buses were also injured in this accident. Police sources told here today that the accident happened when a bus was going towards Cheliyaru. The other bus coming from the opposite direction was running on the wrong side, due to which there was a face-to-face collision between the two buses. He said that four of the injured had suffered serious injuries to four passengers. Mangaluru North Traffic Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation is on.
