Seva Teerth will house the PM’s office while Dutta Bhawan-1 and Dutta Bhawan-2 will house several key ministries. He will also address a public meeting at Seva Teerth at 6 pm.
What is the specialty of Seva Teerth and Dutva Bhavan?
- Seva Teerth is spread over about 2.26 lakh square feet. Its construction has cost Rs 1,189 crore. There are 3 main buildings in its complex – Seva Tirtha-1, Seva Tirtha-2 and Seva Tirtha-3. Seva Tirtha houses the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat, which were earlier located at different locations.
- The new headquarters of the Cabinet Secretariat is in Seva Teerth-2. Seva Teerth-3 will house the offices of the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and the National Security Advisor (NSA).
- Seva Teerth has been made like an open floor. Its objective is to reduce formalities, increase coordination among officials and develop a sense of mutual transparency.
- Seva Tirtha is equipped with encrypted communication systems, advanced cyber security networks and integrated security architecture. This building is earthquake resistant.
- Duty Buildings 1 and 2 house the offices of law, defence, finance, health, agriculture and many other important ministries. Both building complexes have digitally integrated offices, structured public interaction areas and centralized reception facilities.
- Designed in accordance with 4-star GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) standards, these complexes include renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions and high-performance building structures.
- These building complexes have extensive security arrangements such as smart access controls, surveillance networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for officials and visitors.
transformational milestone
A statement issued by the PMO said that this inauguration is a milestone in India’s administrative governance structure and reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment towards building a modern, efficient, accessible and people-centric governance system. It said that for decades, many key government offices and ministries were located at different locations in the Central Vista area and operated with aging infrastructure. Co-location of offices led to operational inefficiencies, coordination challenges, increased maintenance costs and problems with proper work environment. It says new building complexes solve these problems by consolidating administrative functions within modern and future-ready facilities.
