Aditya Pancholi reached Bombay High Court to get FIR canceled

What is the news?

Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi has now intensified the legal battle to get the rape FIR registered against him cancelled. The actor has approached the Bombay High Court challenging the complaint filed by the police. After the preliminary hearing on this matter today, the court has fixed February 24, 2026 for the next proceedings. Let us know the whole matter in detail.

Aditya asked for big relief in rape case

An actress had made serious allegations of rape and sexual harassment against Aditya, on the basis of which the police had registered a case. Aditya has been calling these allegations baseless since the beginning and now he has appealed to the High Court to cancel the FIR registered against him. Now all eyes are on the hearing to be held on February 24, where the court will decide what further legal action will be taken in this case.

Aditya called the FIR a conspiracy to defame

The complainant actress alleges that between 2004 and 2006, Aditya drugged her, raped her several times and also blackmailed her by taking photographs. On the other hand, the lawyer appearing on behalf of Aditya rejected these allegations. He argued in the court that the FIR was lodged in 2019, almost 15 years after the incident, which is only a malicious attempt intended to defame the actor.

Conspiracy behind the complaint

The lawyer told the court that despite the police sending notices 11 times, the actress did not come to join the investigation. After this, the High Court has given final instructions to the actress to appear on 24th February. According to the lawyer, before the FIR was registered, a person had met Aditya, the recording of which is safe with the actor and this recording proves that a deliberate attempt has been made to trap the actor.

The case is registered under these sections

In 2019, Mumbai’s Versova Police had registered a case against Aditya on the complaint of an actress. In this FIR, many serious sections of IPC were imposed on him. Charges were also filed under sections 376 (rape) and 328 (causing harm by giving intoxicants), sections 384 (extortion) and 506 (threatening), besides wrongful confinement (341, 342) and assault (323). However, Aditya has been calling these allegations baseless since the beginning.
