Sundar Pichai, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of tech giant Google, has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today (February 18). Pichai is on a visit to India to attend the AI Impact Summit 2026 held in Delhi. This summit is going on from 16 to 20 February at Bharat Mandapam. Pichai will deliver the keynote address at the summit on February 20 and share his views on global AI issues.
What did Pichai say on his return to India?
After reaching Delhi, Pichai wrote on social media platform X that he is happy to return to India for the AI Impact Summit. He said that as always he was warmly welcomed in India. Pichai also said that the research papers and ideas being presented at the summit are quite impressive. He also appreciated the positive atmosphere and energy regarding the future of AI.

India AI Impact Summit 2026 is being considered as the first major AI summit organized in the Global South. Prime Minister Modi recently said that India’s IT sector has been the backbone of the country’s economy. According to him, AI has brought big opportunities for this sector. It is estimated that by 2030, India’s IT sector can reach $ 400 billion (about Rs 36,000 billion). This growth may be possible due to the rapidly increasing use of AI based services, automation and new technologies.
