Air India has given compensation to how many victims of Ahmedabad aircraft accident till now?

Mumbai: The Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad on June 12 has started paying compensation to the victims. According to the latest information, two-thirds of the victims have been compensated by Air India so far. The Air India Dreamliner aircraft going from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick crashed shortly after flying on June 12, killing about 260 people on the plane and about 260 people on the ground.

Help is being given by direct company

Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Air India, informed the airline employees in an internal post, “Our team is helping to provide interim compensation to the families. Each affected family is being given direct assistance by the representative of Air India, out of which about two-thirds of the families have already received payment or their payment is in the final stages.” The Tata Group owned airline said that Tata is in the process of installing mechanisms to provide long -term assistance to families and survivors.

Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was a victim of accident

In an internal post written to the airline employees, Wilson also said that the airline would “continue to invest in the aircraft, products, services, systems, capabilities and upgradation of the most people”. The accident was one of the worst air accidents in India in decades, including Air India flight number AI 171, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Out of 242 people aboard the aircraft, 241 were killed, while a total of 260 people were killed, including casualties on the ground.

Soon after the accident, Air India’s original company Tata Sons announced that it would provide Rs 1 crore to the families of each person killed in the accident. Air India announced 14 June that it would provide an interim compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the families of every deceased and surviving person in the Ahmedabad plane crash to help in meeting immediate financial requirements.
