How did the oil tanker reach safely?

Amidst the war between the Gulf countries, a tanker loaded with Saudi crude oil has crossed the Strait of Hormuz and reached Mumbai safely. This ship has reached Mumbai due to the wisdom of the Captain. The captain had switched off the tanker’s signal system to avoid Iran. Liberian flagged oil tanker Shenlong (Suezmax) has reached Mumbai carrying 1,35,335 metric tons of Saudi Arabian crude oil.

According to the information revealed, due to security reasons, the ship had temporarily switched off its AIS tracking system while passing through the dangerous area. It reappeared on the tracking system on 9 March and reached Mumbai on 11 March.

There will be relief regarding fuel supply

The ship, operated by Athens-based Dynacom Tanker Management, is the first oil tanker to safely transit the war-torn Strait of Hormuz and reach India. This tanker will dock in Mumbai and supply crude oil to the refineries located at Mahul in East Mumbai. Amid recent regional tensions, this is the first major India-bound crude oil shipment that has safely passed from Hormuz to Mumbai, bringing some relief to fuel supply concerns.
