What is the news?

Archana Puran Singh, famous for her cheerful nature, has hidden a pain behind her laughter. Actually, she has become a victim of a painful disease and is battling it without complaining. He has been diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), which causes excruciating pain in his arm. This has been revealed by his son, who says “his hand will never be the same again.” Let’s learn about it.

This disease occurred due to injury

Archana’s son Ayushmann Sethi had shared a video of her on Instagram, which made fans very emotional after seeing it. He told that Archana’s hand was broken during the shooting of ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ in 2025. Due to this injury he developed CRPS, but his courage did not break. Despite the pain, she completed the shooting of 3 films and a web series and showed how courageous she is.

What is CRPS?

People often get CRPS after an injury, surgery, or stroke. In this the pain is more intense than normal and remains continuous. Because of this, it has become difficult for Archana to even move her hands. This disease usually affects the hands, feet, arms or legs. However, it can occur in any part of the body. There are two main types, which are CRPS-1 and CRPS-2.

What are the symptoms of this disease?

Symptoms of CRPS usually begin 4-6 weeks after the injury. Its main symptom is pain, which is unbearable. Due to this condition, the color of the injured area also changes and swelling also persists. The affected area continues to sweat excessively and its temperature also changes. Due to this the muscles become weak and joints become stiff.

Main causes of CRPS

CRPS is not the only cause of injury, but it is the most common cause. This is most often caused by inflammation in both the peripheral and central nervous systems. The thinnest sensory nerves are damaged after injury and surgery. These sensory nerves increase pain, itching and swelling. Most cases of CRPS are caused by wrist injuries, which is what happened to Archana too.

CRPS treatment

There is no specific cure for CRPS, but there are treatments available to improve its symptoms. People suffering from this are advised to undergo physiotherapy, which reduces pain and makes it easier to move hands and legs. The doctor also gives medicines and injections to the patient, which have to be taken regularly. Other treatments such as psychological therapy, nerve stimulation, and IV ketamine infusions are also available.
