Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla left for space at 12:01 pm today. He is part of the Ex-4 mission with 3 other astronauts from the US, Poland and Hungary. The flight was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. Mission is special for India, as for the first time an Indian will go to the International Space Station (ISS), which has a distance of about 400 kilometers from the Earth. How long will ISS reach?
Space-X’s Dragon Capsules reaches the space station in about 28–29 hours after launch. That is, Shukla and his team will join ISS at around 04:30 pm on 26 June. This vehicle will first make some rounds in the Earth’s orbit and then connect to the space station at the right time. Advanced technology is used in this process and astronauts can control it themselves if needed.
What is an Axiom-4 mission?
The Axiom-4 mission is being run by the US private company, Achom Space. This includes astronauts from India, USA, Poland and Hungary. The purpose of the mission is to use about 60 scientific experiments by staying in space 2 weeks. These experiments include research related to life, health, biotechnology, food and equipment. This mission will give the necessary experiences and information for long campaigns like Moon and Mars in the future.
