Be prepared for April-like heat in March! Temperature reached 39.6°C in Odisha

New Delhi: Many states of the country including UP, Bihar and Maharashtra are experiencing April-like heat in the first week of March. It is a bright sunny day. To escape the heat, people are running fans, coolers and ACs. According to the Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures are being recorded between 37-40°C in West Rajasthan, Gujarat, North Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Odisha, interior parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. In Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, the maximum temperature is being recorded around 30°C.

The highest maximum temperature of 39.6°C was recorded in Jharsuguda (Odisha) in the plains of India. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Assam is being recorded 4-8°C more than normal. While the minimum temperature is being recorded between 13.3°C and 19.8°C.

According to the latest weather bulletin of the Meteorological Department, the day temperature was recorded above normal in many parts of Maharashtra on Thursday, which is an indication of continued heat conditions in the entire state. The maximum temperature in Mumbai was recorded at 35.7 degrees Celsius, which is 4.5 degrees more than the seasonal normal. The minimum temperature in the area was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees more than normal. The maximum temperature in Jalgaon was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius, while Solapur recorded 38.4 degrees Celsius, the highest in the region. The maximum temperature in both Aurangabad and Malegaon was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has indicated that the number of heatwave days may increase this year and hot winds are likely to blow in early April instead of May. Heat wave conditions may be severe in some areas of Konkan on March 5. Hot and humid conditions are likely in some areas of the coastal region.

Know where it will rain

Due to Western Disturbance, there may be light rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir during March 5-11. There is a possibility of rain in West Bengal, Jharkhand on March 9 and Bihar on March 11. There may be rain in Northeast India during 08-11 March.
