At the same time, the government says that there is no problem of energy supply in the country and no one needs to panic. Amidst all this, the PG Association in Bengaluru has taken a big decision. What decision did PG Association take?

The PG Association in Bengaluru has advised PG owners to save gas and has also implemented some rules immediately. The order issued by the PG Association reads, ‘Dear PG owners, due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, the supply of LPG/commercial gas has been stopped, resulting in a gas shortage. In this matter, the PG Association Core Committee has discussed and advised the temporary but necessary measures given below. Let us tell you about those advices.

The PG Association has advised PG owners to provide 2 meals (instructions for taking lunch box) from Monday to Friday and three meals on Saturday-Sunday. Along with this, there has been a ban on making such items which use more gas in making like Dosa, Puri, Chapati etc. Along with this, the cooking gas facility itself will also have to be shut down. Apart from this, PG owners have been asked to use electric rice cookers, especially small and medium PGs. Along with this, it has been advised to use a 20 liter electric rice cooker as this will reduce the dependence on gas. Apart from all this, it has also been advised that nearby PGs should cook together so that the use of gas can be reduced.

Many representatives met the Chief Secretary of Karnataka

Representatives of the Hotel and Restaurant Association, facing shortage of commercial cylinders in Bengaluru, today met the Chief Secretary of Karnataka and shared their problems and told him that hotels in Bengaluru are closing down due to the stoppage of supply of commercial cylinders. Along with this, they demanded that the supply should be limited instead of being stopped completely, although they did not get any concrete assurance on this demand from the Karnataka government. After the meeting, Bengaluru Hotel Association President Subramanya Holla said that the main discussion was about maintaining the same line of domestic gas supply, which has now been increased to 25 days. The second major discussion was about how other government institutions like canteens and hotels are being supported and how they can be helped.

He further said, ‘But there was not much discussion specifically about the hotel industry. We requested the Chief Secretary to look into the issues faced by the hotel industry and give proper representation of Karnataka to the Government of India. We have also requested that at least one and a half percent of the gas supply be given for commercial use in hotels and related places.

Food being cooked on stove in Hyderabad
