Bangalore: Two years have passed since the Karnataka State Government’s ambitious ‘Shakti Scheme’ has been implemented. This is a guarantee that the Congress government came to power first. Since then, 500 crore women have been traveling in transport buses of all four corporations in the state, according to the Karnataka Transport Department.

On June 11, 2023, the chief ministers launched the Shakti Scheme. Since then, approximately 20 to 22 crore women have been traveling for free. So far, 493 crore women have been traveling for free. A total of 500 crore female passengers will travel under the scheme for free on the 14th or 15th of the same month. The department has described it as a new record and milestone achievement for the use of the government project and the benefit of the people.

The ambitious step of the state Congress led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has taken a bold step towards women empowerment. To this end, the number of women passengers traveling under the Shakti Guarantee Scheme will reach Rs 500 crore. In June 2023, 10,54,45,047 women traveled in all transport buses before the energy scheme was available. In July 2023, more than 19 crore women were traveled, according to the Transport Department.

When the number of passengers in the Shakti Guarantee project is completed, the government has set a new flan for the program at the taluk and district level.
