What is the news?

Indian aerospace company Ajista Space has achieved a big feat in space. In a major achievement, a satellite of Agista Space has taken a picture of another satellite present in space. This work has been done for the first time by an Indian private space company. This technology is called in-orbit surveillance or space watch, which is considered very important in terms of security and surveillance in space.

Successful photographs of ISS were taken

Agista Space used its 80 kg Earth observation satellite ABA First Runner. Pictures of the International Space Station (ISS) were taken from this satellite. The ISS rotates continuously at an altitude of about 400 kilometers above the Earth. The satellite tracked the ISS in sunny conditions and captured clear images in 15 different frames, a technically challenging and complex task.

Complete success in both attempts

According to the company, this mission was done twice and both times it was 100 percent successful. The satellite took pictures of the ISS from a distance of about 250 to 300 kilometers. This proved the accuracy of Agista Space’s tracking system and imaging technology. The company claims that this is the first satellite built and operated in India that has successfully demonstrated such surveillance capabilities in space.

Important steps for space security

This success will help further strengthen India’s space exploration awareness. With this, it will be easier than ever to keep an eye on satellites, debris and other objects present in space. At present, India has more than 50 active satellites, whose security is considered very important. This step of Agista Space can prove to be very useful for future space collision prevention and safe space missions.
