BJP has started preparations for Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Let us tell you that there is an alliance between BJP and AIADMK for this election. Recently, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami met Amit Shah in New Delhi. After this, in view of the upcoming assembly elections, state BJP president Nayanar Nagendran met Palaniswami on Friday. According to sources, in this meeting the discussions held in Delhi on seat sharing were taken forward.

How many seats is BJP demanding?

If sources are to be believed, in the meeting of Palaniswami and election in-charge and Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Chennai on December 23 regarding seat sharing, BJP talked about contesting elections on more than 50 seats. Even during the meeting with Amit Shah in Delhi, BJP remained firm on its talk of contesting elections on more than 50 seats. However, AIADMK has not given any kind of consent yet, rather AIADMK has given the message that it wants to contest elections on at least 170 seats. This means that AIADMK wants to give only 64 seats to all the constituent parties including BJP…There are total 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu.

Palaniswami does not agree with the second condition also

Apart from this, Palaniswami also does not seem to agree with the second condition of BJP. To strengthen the alliance, BJP wants former CM O Panneerselvam, who has rebelled from AIADMK, and the AMMK party led by TTV Dinarakaran to be included in the alliance. AIADMK sources said that in today’s meeting, the state BJP president was told by AIADMK that there is no question of including O Panneerselvam, TTV Dhinakaran will be considered later.

PM Modi’s program also discussed

In this meeting, it was also discussed in detail where the PM’s programs should be organized during the elections so that the alliance can benefit from his image. It is noteworthy that in the 2021 elections, AIADMK had given 25 seats to BJP, out of which BJP won only 4 seats. This time the demand for more than double the seats is raising question marks on the survival of the alliance.
