The Meteorological Department has warned of light rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. IMD has said that due to the effect of western disturbance, there is a possibility of sporadic to widespread rainfall/snowfall in the western Himalayan region from 9 to 11 February. A warning of dense fog has been issued in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Orange alert has been issued in UP and yellow alert in Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has said that dense fog can also be seen in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. No significant weather activity is expected over the remaining parts of the country during the next 7 days.

The minimum temperature in northwest India may gradually rise by two degrees during the next two days. After this, there will be a drop of about 2 degrees Celsius in the next two days and after that no major change is likely to happen for the next three days.

How will the weather be in MP, Maharashtra?

There is no possibility of any significant change in the minimum temperature over Central India during the next 24 hours and thereafter it may rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius for the next four days. After this, there is no possibility of any major change for the next two days. There is no significant change in minimum temperatures likely over East India during the next three days and thereafter the temperature may rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next three days. There will be no major change in the minimum temperature during the next 24 hours in Maharashtra. After this, there will be a drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius for the next two days. After this the temperature may rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius.

New western disturbance forming next week

Due to western disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, there may be light rain and snowfall between 9th and 10th. There is no possibility of any major change in the weather next week, but a new western disturbance may form from February 17.

Severe cold in Punjab-Haryana

Many parts of Punjab experienced severe cold on Sunday and the minimum temperature was recorded at five degrees Celsius in Faridkot and Hoshiarpur. The officers provided this information. According to the India Meteorological Department, at other places in Punjab, the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.6 degrees in Firozpur, 5.7 degrees in Amritsar, 6.2 degrees in Bathinda, 7 degrees in Gurdaspur, 9.4 degrees in Ludhiana and 9.3 degrees in Patiala. Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a minimum temperature of eight degrees Celsius. In Haryana, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.2 degrees in Karnal, 8.1 degrees in Gurugram, 8.5 degrees in Narnaul, 8.3 degrees in Hisar, while the temperature in Ambala was 9.2 degrees Celsius.
