train accident in jajpur
A train incident came to light in Jajpur district of Odisha on Thursday morning. Three coaches of Chennai Central Express train derailed near Jakhapura station. This incident happened at around 08:51 in the morning. According to the information, the train was passing through the yard area and its speed was very slow at that time. The derailed coaches include one AC coach and two general coaches. After the incident, there was panic in the railway administration and relief work was started immediately.
The Railways issued an official press note in this matter, saying, “Train No. 22611 Chennai-New Jalpaiguri Express had a minor derailment at Jajpur Yard at 08:51 am. During this, one AC coach and two general coaches derailed. The train was running at a very slow speed at the time of the incident. No passenger has lost his life in this accident and no one has been injured.”
Railways further clarified in its statement, “Passenger train operations are completely normal. The affected passengers are being appropriately accommodated. The derailed coaches are being separated and additional coaches will be deployed as and when required for the convenience of passengers.”
According to the Railways, as soon as the information was received, Accident Relief Train from Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road and Accident Relief Medical Equipment from Khurda Road were sent to the spot at 08:53 am. Along with this, a rescue team from Bhadrak has also been sent to the spot. Railways also said, “Senior railway officials are present at the spot and monitoring all restoration and safety related work. The cause of derailment is being investigated and further information will be shared in due course.” At present there is no information about any loss of life or property in this incident. The exact reason for derailment will be known only after investigation.
