What is the news?

Security forces have achieved great success in Bastar range of Chhattisgarh. Here 108 Naxalites have surrendered before the police with weapons. All Naxalites were active in Dandakaranya area. A reward of up to Rs 3.95 crore was declared on them. All have laid down arms in Jagdalpur under the ‘Poona Margame’ initiative. Let us tell you that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given the deadline till March 31, 2026 to end Naxalism.

Six divisional commanders were also among those who laid down their arms.

Police said that the Naxalites who surrendered include 37 from Bijapur, 30 from Dantewada, 18 from Sukma, 16 from Bastar, 4 from Narayanpur and 3 from Kanker. There are many women Maoists and 6 divisional commanders in it. There was a reward of Rs 8 lakh each on all the commanders. The Naxalites include 6 division committee members, 3 company party committee members, 18 PPCM rank and 23 area committee rank Maoists. This is the biggest surrender till date.

End of Naxalism near?

Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma had informed in the press conference last month that till now 532 Naxalites have been killed in the state, 2,004 have been caught and 2,700 have surrendered. During this period, 6 members of the Maoist Politburo and Central Committee and 17 members of the Special Zonal Committee have been killed in the major encounter. Security forces have killed general secretary Nambala Keshav Rao alias Basavaraju, mastermind of 26 attacks Madvi Hidma, Odisha chief Ganesh Uike, Modem Balakrishna.
