Chikmagalur: Timely treatment An inhumane incident took place in the Chikmagalur district hospital where an old man suffering from breathing problem died without getting treatment as a result of the doctor being engrossed in his mobile phone instead of giving treatment.

60-year-old Manjunath was admitted to the Mallegowda Government District Hospital this morning suffering from breathing problems. It has been alleged that even though the patient was struggling for breath on the stretcher, the doctor on duty was engrossed in his mobile phone without treating him. An hour after arriving at the hospital, the patient was struggling without even receiving primary treatment.

No matter how many pleas the family members made, the doctors and staff did not respond immediately. He was admitted to the ICU unit only after the situation became serious. Meanwhile, time had flown by. Manjunath died in the morning due to lack of timely treatment.

The public has expressed outrage against the negligence of doctors and staff. He demanded strict action against the culprits.
