CM Dhami resolves for “crime free Uttarakhand”, orders strict action against criminals

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, adopting a strict stance regarding law and order in the state, has clearly said that laxity or compromise will not be accepted at any level. The Chief Minister directed that cases should be registered immediately in all types of crimes and strict and effective action should be ensured against the criminals.

The Chief Minister was today presiding over a high-level meeting organized at the Chief Minister’s residence to review the law and order situation of the state. Chief Secretary, DGP, Secretary Home, ADGP (Law and Order), Garhwal Commissioner and senior police and government officials were present in the meeting.

Instructions for strict monitoring of organized criminals

Chief Minister Dhami especially directed to keep strict vigil on criminals involved in habitual and organized crimes. He said that such elements should be identified and strict action should be taken against them under legal provisions, so that fear of law is established in the society and the common people feel safe. He said that criminals will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action should be ensured against those who take law into their own hands, anti-social elements and those who try to disturb the peace of the state.

The Chief Minister directed the police department to work with full activeness, vigilance and accountability. He said that the functioning of police stations and posts should be made more effective. Regular patrolling and monitoring should be increased in sensitive areas. Instructions were also given to run a special campaign to improve the traffic and security system in urban areas. The Chief Minister said that law and order issues should be regularly reviewed and accountability should be fixed at every level.

Pledge of “Crime Free Uttarakhand”

Chief Minister Dhami gave a clear message to the officials that results should be visible on the ground and the public should have a real experience of security. He said that his government is working with the resolve of “Crime Free Uttarakhand”. Peace, security and good governance of the state is the top priority of the government. The Chief Minister reiterated that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure the safety of common citizens and negligence in this will not be tolerated at any level. He expected the authorities to take coordinated and effective action to further strengthen the rule of law. In the meeting, a detailed review of the current law and order situation of the state was done and strategic guidelines were decided for crime control.
