A big political drama is being seen in Assam Congress. Former state Congress president and senior leader Bhupen Kumar Bora created a sensation by resigning from the party on Monday morning. He had sent his resignation to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge through email. He kept trying to persuade the top leaders of the party. At the same time, today Bhupen Bora has come in front of the media. He claimed today that CM Sarma also wants to meet him.

resignation has not been withdrawn yet

Bhupen Bora clarified while talking to the media that he has not yet withdrawn his resignation, but has asked for time till Tuesday morning to consult his family and colleagues. He said, ‘The resignation has been sent, but the high command has not accepted it. I will take the decision by tomorrow morning.

Showed his resignation to two leaders

On his resignation from Congress, Bhupen Kumar Bora said, ‘Yesterday (Monday), Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi and CLP leader Debabrata Saikia came to my house. In front of them, I told all the other leaders to see my resignation letter, and I gave the right to Pradyut Bordoloi and Debabrata Saikia that if these two leaders are convinced that Bhupen Kumar Bora is wrong and yes, this will never happen in future, then I will withdraw my resignation.

I will wait all day

Bora said, ‘This morning, Pradyut Bordoloi called me. I will wait the whole day and if Pradyut Bordoloi and Debabrata Saikia can convince me that yes, this is Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), then I am ready to withdraw my resignation.

It’s not APCC, it’s APCC(R) now

He said, ‘It is not APCC, it is APCC(R) now. That is why I am not ready to work in APCC(R). Right now as per my knowledge and understanding it is not APCC(R). It is APCC(R) like AGPP, NCP, TMC. It is inside APCC(R). You go and analyse.

Proposals received from 6 political parties

On his resignation from Congress, Bhupen Kumar Bora said, ‘There is already a fight going on in the minds of Congress leaders and workers whether we will stay in APCC or be out of APCC (R). Till date there has been no talk from any political party about whether I will join or not. But I have received 6 proposals from six political parties. Yesterday, no BJP leader, no BJP MP, MLA contacted me.

CM Sarma wants to come to my house- Bora

He said, ‘Only a senior journalist from Assam met me yesterday and told me that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wants to come to my house. I said okay, right now I am not a member of any political party. Anyone can come to my house. I will contest the upcoming elections. I was working on a plan that I will contest from Ranganadi as it is my birthplace, I will take the final decision tonight.
