Severe cold and dense fog continue to wreak havoc in North India. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a serious warning for the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Hisar, Haryana has fallen to this season’s record level of 1.1 degrees Celsius, while the mercury in Delhi and Chandigarh remains around 4 degrees. Today, a new Western Disturbance is becoming active from January 15, due to which heavy snowfall in the mountains and cold wave in the plains is likely to increase till January 30.

According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave conditions are likely to persist in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha for the next two days. In the coming days, light to dense fog will be seen in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Rain alert in 6 states of North India

According to the update released by the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in 6 states of North India in the next 72 hours. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during January 16 to 20. During this period, there may be rain and snowfall at different places in Uttarakhand. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh during January 18 to 20 and in Western Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on January 19 and 20. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder at many places in Lakshadweep on January 14.

How will the weather be in Delhi?

Rain warning has been issued in Delhi between January 18 and 20. During this period the temperature may once again drop by 2 to 3 degrees. Between January 15 and 17, the temperature will remain between 4 to 5 degrees in the morning and night. During this period, wind will also blow at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.

Severe cold in Bihar

There will be severe cold in Bihar today. A warning of dense fog and cold wave has been issued in most of the districts in the morning. There is a warning of dangerous cold wave in Patna, Siwan, Buxar, Bhojpur, Saran, East Champaran, West Champaran, Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar, Araria, Khagaria, Darbhanga and Madhubani.

Rain warning in UP

Today there may be light fog in Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Kanpur, fog may form due to blowing wind. At the same time, orange alert has been issued in many districts of UP. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Western UP on January 18 and 19.
