Hospice: A second year student in a college in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, died in agony after sexual harassment. On the complaint of the deceased’s father, the police have registered an FIR against three others, including a professor, on charges of ragging and sexual harassment. According to the complaint, the deceased was a second year degree student in the college. It is alleged that on September 18, three college students beat her up and threatened her, due to which she suffered a mental breakdown.
The student made a video of herself dying
Before dying, the student had recorded a video from her mobile giving information about the incident that happened to her. She told how the professor touched her inappropriately and there were many other incidents of mental and sexual harassment. In a police complaint, the father of a second year student of Government Degree College, Dharamshala, has alleged that on September 18, three girl students brutally ragged his daughter and threatened her to keep quiet.
This allegation has been made in the complaint
In the complaint, the father has made serious allegations of indecent acts, mental harassment and inappropriate behavior against college professor Ashok Kumar. Family members say that after these incidents, the student started living in fear and stress, due to which her condition continued to deteriorate.

According to family members, the student was treated in various hospitals, but she died during treatment at DMC Hospital in Ludhiana on December 26. The father says that due to his daughter’s condition and family shock, he could not file the complaint earlier.
Police engaged in investigation
Kangra ASP Ashok Ratan said that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. Medical records, video statements and other evidence are being thoroughly examined. Further legal action will be taken based on the facts. Police have registered a case under sections 75, 115(2), 3(5) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) and section 3 of the Himachal Pradesh Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Ragging) Act, 2009.
