Ram Gopal Varma will start work on ‘Sarkar 4’

Producer-director Ram Gopal Varma has officially approved the fourth installment of his popular political crime-thriller franchise ‘Sarkar’. He shared this information on the occasion of Red Lorry Film Festival inauguration day on March 13. The director had attended the event for the screening of his cult-classic film ‘Shiva’. During the conversation, he told that he is planning to start the shooting of ‘Sarkar 4’ from next month.

Speaking at the event, the director said, “I am also making ‘Sarkar 4’. But after my statement, you should also remember this old saying that the truth of a thing is known only by its use. So, whether I do this film or not, it will be known only at the end of the year.” Apart from ‘Sarkar 4’, he told that he is also working on another film titled Syndicate.

‘Sarkar’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan is a political-crime film based on the socio-political backdrop of Maharashtra. The first installment of this franchise ‘Sarkar’ was released in 2005. In 2008, Ram Gopal brought its second installment ‘Sarkar Raj’, while in 2017 ‘Sarkar 3’ was released. Apart from Amitabh and Abhishek, stars like Manoj Bajpayee, KK Menon, Katrina Kaif, Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam and Supriya Pathak have been a part of this franchise.
