New Delhi/Faridabad: The Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has started a large-scale raid on the office of Al Falah University, its trustees and other people and institutions from 5 am on Tuesday. According to sources, these raids are related to the funding of the university and some old criminal cases. This raid is being conducted by ED at the Okhla office of Al Falah University. Sources said that ED teams have been searching at many places in Delhi-NCR since morning. It is believed that ED is taking action under PMLA in this case, taking cognizance of the FIR lodged by NIA and Delhi Police.
Allegations of irregularities in university funding
Apart from the main office of Al Falah University, ED officials are examining the documents in Faridabad and many other places in Delhi-NCR. This action is being taken on the basis of complaints of irregularities and suspicious transactions in the funding of the university. Let us tell you that the name of Al Falah University is also linked to the people involved in the bomb blasts near the Red Fort and many types of fraud allegations have been made in it. Al Falah University is a private university located in Faridabad district of Haryana, which was founded by Al Falah Charitable Trust.
University Chancellor’s brother was arrested
Let us tell you that 50-year-old Hamood Ahmed Siddiqui, younger brother of Al Falah University Chancellor Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police from Hyderabad on Sunday. Hamood is accused of taking around Rs 40 lakh from people in Mhow town many years ago in the name of investment and luring 20 percent interest. After running the company for two years, he and his family absconded in the third year. A reward of Rs 10,000 was also announced in three old cases of cheating. However, the police said that Chancellor Javed Ahmed Siddiqui has nothing to do with these fraud cases.
