Election Commission suspends 7 West Bengal officials for negligence in SIR

The Election Commission has suspended 7 officials for negligence in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in West Bengal. All were Additional Voters Registration Officers (AEROs). He has been charged with alleged misconduct, dereliction of duty and abuse of statutory powers. The Commission has given instructions to West Bengal Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty in this regard and asked to ensure disciplinary action against all the 7 officers.
